In an interview with the Finanz und Wirtschaft, Chairman Ralph Ossa explains what constitute economics as a discipline and how the Department of Economics enables students to contribute to solving the central challenges of our time: achieving ecological sustainability, managing the digital revolution, overcoming the globalization crisis, reducing poverty and inequality and dealing with populism and extremism. To answer these questions, the department offers students a solid methodological training and the ability to reduce complex problems to their essential components and to analyze them concisely.
